We present the last part of our packaging series HOW TO develop a packaging. Read and remember!
7. KEEP IT SIMPLE AND CLEAR
Often the best solutions are the ones that look effortless and that are understood in an instance. So, keep your labels simple and visually strong. No need for unneccessary information. Government requirements can go to the back of the package.
8. ONCE YOU HAVE IT, DON’T SCREW IT UP
If a design works and pleases the customer, don’t change it. It is hard to please current consumers with novelties. Often we are stuck to working ideas, so stick to your running system, until it really needs a relaunch. However, don’t ever think of cutting the budget for packaging and falling back on low-quality materials or ink because once being used to a certain standard, your customer will hate it. A ‘soft relaunch’ is the motto.
9. GIVE IT CARE AND ATTENTION
While extreme design realunches should be considered with care, it does not mean that you should never renew your product or packaging. Keep the quality of your product high and try to anticpate trends. Minor and delicate tweaks can breath fresh air into the brand without loosing its recall value. So, if you want to draw attention to your brand, why don’t you create – besides your classic product line – a limited edition or initiate an artist cooperation? It may give your brand just the right boost.
